Chaotic Thinking.

.

We all have those moments. Some of us have more than others! Today, my brain seems to be over wired. Sometimes every sound that enters my head is more than I can handle. Loud noises are even louder, shrill sounds are almost intolerable. It causes anxiety that can make me nauseous.

Then, I have to remember to take a time-out! If I don’t remember, I have a beautiful daughter that very kindly reminds me.

Being there for each other is paramount to survival. It’s not just survival of the fittest. We are all ‘fit’ in different ways. We have different strengths. No one person is stronger or better than another.

Let me see if I can clarify. A man or woman are alone. They’re jobless. There’s been a close death in the family. They see depression as a weakness so anger begins to well in them. A trip to the grocery store turns into a screaming match over the cost of food. People avoid this person so they don’t get caught in their wrath. Except for one solitary person.

This person offers to help. At first the angry person continues to spew obscenities. When they don’t get a response, perhaps they begin to cry and decide to accept whatever help can be given to them. Maybe not. But if help is never offered, the result could end up in tragedy.

Humans are not solitary animals. Not usually. Even then help can be used from time to time. We do our best work together. We give our best when we give together. We raise each other’s spirit.

But when we harm one another, when we set out to kill or try to break someone’s will; we are doing one of the worst things we can do. We are trying to dominate them with our own power.

Sometimes in the chaos of everyday thinking, crossing brain wires, shopping, and going about our daily lives, we forget. We forget that there are others out there that need help and support. We can’t see them all. But what we can do is be aware.

Say hello to someone. Smile. Don’t avoid eye contact and don’t avoid someone’s tears; even your own.
