We live in a world today that is dangerous and frightening to the core. There are more and more killings. Not just by guns as some would believe but by any method that someone can use to be successful in their task. Our world, our human being, our heart, and even our spirit are angry.
As humans, this anger causes us to turn on each other. We begin to think we are better than anyone else and become prideful. We lose respect for each other and the world around us. As our anger and arrogance increase, we war against each other. We harm and kill, murder.
This is not confined to country against country. We fight and war against each other. Who is right and who is wrong? Who deserves to live and who do we allow to just die?
We become frightened when these things happen and for good reason. However, fear feeds the hatred and it becomes a vicious circle. Past pain feeds this as well. We remember the pains from how our past (FYI, I’m not referring to any specific past) atrocities affected us. We are fearful that this will happen again.
The truth is, if we didn’t learn from that past, we will repeat it over and over.
We all have a past that includes pain and joy. These are the things that make us who we are. We all carry baggage. All of us. Those that say they don’t are lying to themselves.
Letting go doesn’t mean that we have to forget the painful things. It means release. It means learning from it and not allowing it to taint who we are today. We remember and it can make us cry in the same way that remembering joy can make us smile or laugh.
The laughter of today and yesterday can improve our outlook of who we are today.
We can change. We are human. All of us. When we release we can see the absolute truth of what it is like to carry joy, love, and humanitarianism. We have compassion for EVERY person.
Humans can evolve beyond the need to hurt each other. When we do we can become successful in whatever we want to do. We understand that we can build each other up instead of the other way around.
I may be a dreamer, but I believe in us. I TRULY believe that we can grow. Can you believe with me?
